The Lumby Air Force Flying Club (L.A.F.), is a registered non profit society organized in 1976.

Current L.A.F. policies and procedures in regards to Coopers Mountain are as follows:
1: All Pilots require a minimum of 10 Hours airtime and 20 foot launches prior to flying Coopers.
2: Valid HPAC insurance or equivalent is required. Foreign pilots can get temporary Canadian insurance at the landing fields with prior notice.
3: Approved helmets are mandatory.
4: L.A.F. waivers must be signed annually as per our Govt. land lease agreement. Waivers are available at the Lumby Tourist Info or on the front of Randy's Hanger/quanset at the Lumby AirPark on way to launch at #249 Mabel Lake Rd. To download Waiver - click here. Please fill it out and  leave it at the hanger in the mailbox on the way by.
5: Pilots are asked to only land in authorized fields unless its an emergency or during authorized XC competition.
6: Absolutely no commercial use of this site is allowed without written authorization from the L.A.F.
7: Flight School/Tandem Flight Policy - click here

Note: Starting in 2003 the Coopers Flying Site has been accepting donations for maintaining the site and general expenses. $10.00 per year per pilot would be very appreciated as a minimum donation. Donations are accepted at the Lumby tourist booth or Randy's carport and can be made when signing the annual mandatory waiver.

Please be aware of active logging on the road up to launch.

Drive slow and follow the blue marks on the trees at each intersection.

The only authorized main landing field at this time is at Randy's farm (Lumby Air Park) marked with a windsock at #249 Mabel Lake Road.

Please refer to the photo link below.

L.A.F. Authorized Landing Zones

The new field is large and flat and immediately below launch.
Please note… If the alfalfa is high and the corn is low, land in the corn field (dirt field) south of the alfalfa field outlined on the map as the emergency field.
Please report any unsafe or unauthorized activity in regards to Coopers or our landing Fields to the L.A.F. directly:
